PHOTO HUNTERS #16- PAPER
PHOTO HUNTERS HOME
The theme this week is PAPER. I thought of all kinds of things. I even considered photos that showed something that was "paper thin." BUT then, I decided to use a paper memory instead.
These are Girl Scout membership cards of my twin sister and I -- and Mom's -- who was the Troop Leader "way back when" in Idaho.
This is the front of the original Brownie cards.
The next photo -- the original really is white but camera wasn't cooperating --is of one of the cards I bothered to save from when I was a Girl Scout leader for my own daughter back in Idaho where I originally started in Girl Scouting. I had been a leader in Hawaii before that. For privacy, I took off my present last name. Unfortunately, I am stuck with my real first name on the card. Ü Did you notice how close the numbers of troops were when I was a child and an adult?
If I had realized that fact when I became a leader in Idaho, I would have asked for the old troop number (22) so I could come full circle! I didn't find these three cards until my Mom was cleaning out some stuff at her home and she asked if I wanted her old Girl Scout Leader's Guide. The three cards from when my twin and I were Brownies and Mom was our leader were tucked inside it! They're quite old! Ü

You are gettin a head start on tomorrow.
About the Clematis, I didn't know that was what the white flower vine was until I saw it in a gardening magazine last year while sitting in a hospital waiting room. We have two of the other kind with big white flowers and one purple that bloom in the Spring & Summer.

Wow those are really old cards! I was a girl guide and ranger during school days but I don't remember having cards or anything. We were so into getting different types of emblems on our uniform back then. :D
oh how neat! What an awesome memory / keepsake.
I was a Brownie more than a quarter century ago. Gosh. Time flies by so fast.
Great memories.
Those are great cards. I'm impressed you still have them. What a neat paper memory to have.
I have find memories of Girl Scouts when I was a child. I used to have a box with my badges -- don't know if I have the cards -- but I don't know where any of that stuff is now. Maybe my mom's attic? Good choice for today!
Great collection of paper memory. Those are definitely worth keeping :) Here's my paper. Have a good weekend
This is very nice!! Something to treasure..... Have a nice weekend!
Gee you brought back so many memories! But would you believe that my daughter's troop (in Connecticut) was 22 too??
That is so fun--I was in girl scouts when I was a kid, my mom was leader, all I have left is a brownie sash. :)
It is amazing how many memories are preserved in paper!
I did not know that they have membership cards printed so nicely over there. So far I have not seen one that caught my attention in Malaysia. Nice sharing here. Keep it up :)
What wonderful memories. I never kept all that stuff. Great photos and have a wonderful weekend.

That was so memorable for you. My eldest daughter too is a Girl Scout but she just told me yesterday her GS club was dissolved. It really saddened us because she has been with the club for three years.
Thanks for sharing those wonderful memories, Paulie. Have a great weekend! :)
Wow! That's really cool you still have those! I don't even remember having a Brownie membership card "way back when." Nice job!
That must bring back quite a few memories for you - lovely to have them as mementos.
wow, now i am wondering where's my scout membership card. unlike you, i was just a normal member :P
great memories, I am sure!
What wonderful pieces of your history... and surely many happy memories.
I often wonder, if in 50 years or so, the only mementos will be on disks that no longer have the means to be played/viewed.
Those girl scout membership card u have are lovely momentos. I'm sure they bring back memories :)
Great pics, and a wonderful choice for this week's theme. Mine's up, too. Have a good weekend!
I'm just looking at other blogs and I came across your blog and the first thing came to my mind "wow someone lived in Idaho" well I'm up in Bonners Ferry area the northern part of the state.
I was never a brownie or girl scout but I was a blue bird and camp fire girl.
Plus I did 4-H
Thank you for sharing those Girl Scout keepsakes. I'm sure you have many wonderful memories of those exciting and fun-filled days.
Take care!
Those are really sweet memories
Wonderful.
Thanks for visiting :)
Your pics bring back memories of Girl Guides.
Oh I wish I had my twin and my old Girl Scouts cards! Great take on the theme this week! I love your name, Pauline, its better than Rebecca (my real first name, twin is Roberta!) lol..My photos are up, please come and visit
how cool is that! what a great idea :-)
That's very cool for the theme, and it was fun to read about it! :)
What priceless mementos those are! I was a girl scout way back when, too. :)
Wonderful memento to have. Bet it brings back lots of good memories.
Paper can hold so many memories. I was a boy scout during the 1950's and still have my badges :)
Good use of the theme! I have no idea if I kept anything of my girl scout days.
What a great piece of history. One of my favorite Girl Scout items is my Mother's _Ditty Bag_ song book.
Fantastic paper--'vintage' items are some favorites for altered books. Thanks for visiting my site! :)
That's so cool that you still have those cards...I wish I had mine!
Wonderful mementos! I wish I still had mine to show my daughter...
That is an interesting post. My best friend and I are in the process of starting a Brownie Troop for our girls. I have a lot of old Girl Scout things, but have not yet found my card!
You've inspired me to go through the box where I keep similar mementos.
Bet you were an adorable brownie.
Thanks for sharing and visiting.
wow, you are a girl scout leader, great, and the cards are very neat, precious keepsakes. happy sunday
This is really cool. I never was in the girlscouts, so it is something new for me to learn.
wow your comments here are overwhelming! love your take on the paper!
thanks for visiting my site!
Great photos - good to remember the importance of Brownies & Guides! I was in the Robin Patrol, & remember getting badges for wrapping a parcel, thrift & cleaning shoes!
What great paper pictures...and memories. I had the opportunity to go to Juliette Gordon Low's childhood home in Savannah and was most impressed. I was almost sorry that I "dropped out" after Brownies.
:-) Susan
Hi Pauline, thanks for dropping by my blog. What a great piece of paper for this theme. Blogging is so addictive. BTW, I like the pictures on your blog. They are lovely.
I love these. Makes me wonder where mine is!
Congrats on making it through all the PHs! You go, girl!
Excellent Idea! I love finding these old membership cards and other memorabilia. I live in a rented house and there are TONS of old papers here.. wish I had thought to dig them out and post them. Most of them are in German, so I can't read them. Great idea!
Those are so neat. What wonderful memories to have.
My daughter made her paper candle at preschool on Peace Day which was last Wednesday. She's very proud of it on display in our home. :)
Amazing that you kept those cards all these years! Guess they are connected with really happy memories, huh? :)
How fun! Wonderful memories! :)
That is so cool - and perfect for the theme! Thanks for stopping by Pollywog Creek, too, even though I wasn't at home! =)
Nice. I was in the GS for years. I don't even remember having membership cards.
Awesome take on our theme of paper for this week.Great memorabilia to have for assisting in keeping these memories alive as the years pass by.
I love your blog...the photography is wonderful in your posts.
Thanks for your visit. Please drop by as you can.
Have a great week filled with love and laughter!

I was a girl scout too for many, many years. I have a lot of fond memories from that time (and a lot of crafts and pictures that I have saved in my memory trunk).
