Dreary day here. . .

I don't think I can stand the darkness of fall/winter. I even went back to bed Monday morning because it was so dark and dreary out my picture windows. I need sun and light and a little snow on the ground would help. . . I can put up with the cold but not the dreary look of this time of year.

It was just like that here today!

I know just what you mean, Paulie.
Some of the worst depression I've been through happened when I lived in Pittsburgh in winter. I need light. I can't stand a dark house. I have to burn candles and turn on lights.
We're supposed to have sunshine today but the last 3 days were bleak.

Time to get one of those SAD lights, don't you have a lot of days like that out in the northwest?

We had a period of rain last year where I felt the same way. Hope it's nicer for you later on this week.

Like Jenny says--sounds like SAD. Seasonal Affective Disorder is what I think it stands for. It seems particularly dark particularly early these days--Is that just my imagination? The first year I commuted, the first week back to school in January I was ready to take the job and shove it. I left home in the dark and got home in the dark. I was stark raving crazy. At least I had a window in my classroom then. In my current position I don't, but I can get out and wander around a bit at certain times of the schoolday. Today I went out and took pictures on the playground. That was my excuse and I'm sticking to it.

It is such a pretty tree though and there will be snow eventually, but I know what you mean. Firmly believe humans should hibernate too.

Now take a look at those poppies in the center of your blog banner. :) It brought a smile to me and I know it will to you.

A taste of the 70's - a black and white tree against a leaden sky. Love 'em.

I've heard of the depression people get in the winter months. Maybe you need to read up on it and see what you can do to help get thru. Lots of people get depressed around the holidays. I do.
