Gas alternative . . .

Thought this was interesting. Saw it on my snow journey to Camas but saved it for a separate post. I wonder if they pull up to a fast food place and fill up with used fryer oil?

What a neat find, seems funny doesn't it to think of them pulling up to a restaurant LOL.

I think there is some processing necessary, but someone does go to the fast food places and fill up to get it to the processing.

I used to read a blog where a family had converted a camper and were traveling across county. The places they fueled up were more the greasy spoon type place that had a storage place outside on the premises.

I met a woman who did this with her VW Passat. She loved it. She created her own fuel from some grease that others very gladly gave her from their restaurant, and drove cheaply! Greasecar.com was her source of materials, etc. God bless, Paulie!

This is used to create "biodiesel" (http://biodiesel.org/). Some cities have the foresight to pay people to dispose of the cooking grease from restaurants this way.

These contractors pick up cooking grease from restaurants, run it through a (relatively) simple process and viola! You have a cleaner diesel fuel that you can use in your buses and other mass transit.

Less grease in dumps, less grease down storm drains, plus your buses don't belch as much soot into the air.
