Blog Your Blessing Sunday #18

Go here if you would like to participate: Blue Panther

Although the temperature is still cold outside, we have had a brief pause in the rain so it has been good walking weather. That made me think of what a blessing it is to be able to walk on the abundance of trails that our city has provided for everyone. Besides good health habits, we get the privilege of seeing God's wonders up close.

These are all in our park downtown. There is also a cement plaque from Volkssporters walking group but my photo cut off a letter so I didn't post it today. I'll go back and get a new photo in case someone reads this post at a later date. . .

CLICK on the photo to read the message.

This is the bench in Esther Short Park where the message is engraved. It is along the sidewalk and in front of a water fountain play area that extends a long ways on one side of the park.

Our mayor is a walking/bicycling enthusiast and I am sure he and the city council submitted an entry for us to receive this award. I don't know because I was teaching in California that year.

I loved walking around your beautiful city when I visited it. It felt perfectly safe, and walking was so much fun. Happy BYB Sunday!

That is a blessing, indeed. I was thinking that yesterday as we were out and about in the snow on this side of the continent. Thanks for reminding us to cherish what is before us, Paulie. God bless.

It is a blessing to have walking trails and greenways in cities. It is healthy to walk and we are seeing it become more pedestrian friendly in some places now.
Hope your weekend is going well. I was able to lunch and visit with my brother, sister-in-law, 2 sisters and 3 neices as well as my daughter and granddaughter today. It was my youngest niece's 10th Birthday. We had rain on our 70 mile trip one way. The sun was out on the trip back to daugher's this afternoon.

That's a cute little message. I don't live in a city but I'm very fortunate to have a place to walk. Happy Trails to You!!

Vancouver is a wonderful town for walking. We got everywhere either by bus, ferry or feet. It was great!

No ferries in our Vancouver -- you must be thinking of BC Canada
