More Pretty Tulips at Esther Short Park

We have had tulips since the end of March at Esther Short Park. There are many flower beds there among the benches and paths and rows and rows of colored tulips within. The colors are not intertwined but all the same color in different tows. I think they must have planted them at separate times because different colored rows appeared each week and after a month of blooming, the whole end of the park where there are many flower beds was ablaze with red, pink, yellow, white, and varigated tulips, all in long rows of color.

ABC Wednesday--Year Two --O and P

Go here if you would like to join us for ABC Wednesday. . . Mrs Nesbitt

A reminder -- to see the full beauty of the photos, click on to enlarge.

I had a week off from blogging last week so missed out on O so here it is now:

"O" is for outdoors. . . there is nothing more beautiful than new blossoms on a tree in spring! (Unless its a rainbow or a sunset or . . . )

Today, the letter is "P" and that stands for PRETTY! These are a few of my favorite PRETTY tulips I have been blessed to see this year. In fact, they are POSITIVELY PERFECT PHOTOS for today!

OOPS! I almost forgot . . . "P" is also for "Paulie" and my blog, "Postcards" from "Paulie" too. ALSO," pink."

"Save the Tulips" . . .

There is a new church being built near my 50 year old Lutheran church and where I catch the bus. The old landscape is being re-done and they have pulled out everything but these gorgeous tulips. They add a bit of beauty to the construction presently. I suppose they figure they will be finished blooming shortly and then they can replant in a new flower bed. . .

Just a side note. . . The church there was using an old building that used to be a very old 2 story school. They have been there for at least 20 years. They are called Evergreen Bible Church and I saw only one lonely Evergreen tree and nothing else but grass that was green on the property. I suppose when the school was built, they were out in the country with lots of Evergreen trees? I don't know since I moved here 22 years ago when there were no more trees and the building was not a church. They are also not located on Evergreen Avenue which is a parallel street about a mile south. The neat thing is their new church building is now painted a light green! Ü

Blog Your Blessings Sunday #24

If you care to join us acknowledging our blessings go here: Blue Panther

Saturday I did nothing. I mean, I did nothing of the things that were waiting on my "TO DO" list. It was 78 degrees and our first really nice day with beautiful blue skies in a long time -- WITHOUT RAIN. In thinking of which blessing I wanted to share and what photo I would put with it, I decided on this one. It illustrates a picture of rest when I am doing one of my about town walks and comes with the added beauty of the tulips that are open now and in full bloom. To me, this is the ultimate picture of resting in His beauty!

Another award and more tulips. . .

Received this from pernille's ting og tang
yesterday. Thanks very much! The purpose of my blog is to get some writing in while sharing my digital photos of things I love and also ones I happen to chance upon. I love it when others enjoy what I do also.

These are more tulips I have spied around town this past week.

More tulips . . .

I was so worried about the tulips in the park when we got the unexpected cold spell and snow last week but they look like they survived and that made me one happy camper. No April Fool's tricks on me!

CLICK on especially the first and last to see the raindrops better as it is most beautiful to see.

I received this award from more people recently. . . THANK YOU to Kathy, Bears In Exile, Sharon, Kerri and Mrs. Nesbitt. I also returned it as an award to each that I had not originally given it to this past week. I will be exploring new blogs and award it again someday to those I find a good read in the future. I already presented it to 10 people and back to lilli when she first gave it to me.

Katney has snow and I have tulips!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We might be in the same state but she lives a lot closer to the snow than I do! I guess I will be satisfied with my tulip view. . . I posted this one to Teachers.net and it showed up taking up the whole screen so unless one presses on it to enlarge, it won't be as spectacular. . .

Saw my first tulips in bloom Friday. . .

Went for a long walk Friday and finished up at the downtown park where I was checking to see the TULIPS progress. Each Spring, there are hundreds of them in bloom there. None last week. Just this bronze statue of the girl handing the man a tulip from her collection . . .

Today, I was given a wonderful surprise. As I entered the north end of the park, my view was pretty Hyacinths.

THEN on the southern area of the park, my eyes were blessed with the first blooming tulips of the season and I eagerly snapped a few shots of the different colors available so far.

I know that in awhile, there will be many more kinds popping up. In fact, by Easter, these should be wide open and ready for another photo session with my camera. . . the anticipation is just about killing me. . . YET, tonight on the news they predict snow at low elevations for us!!!!!!!!!!!! Where was our snow in winter? I had given up on it and am enjoying SPRING now . . . or so I thought. Hope the weatherman is wrong this time much as I love snow IN WINTER!
