ABC Wednesday - Year 2 --"W"

Go here if you would like to join us for ABC Wednesday. . . Mrs Nesbitt

Last week I used my waterfall shot in VERTICAl photos so I could show my wildflowers and weeds this WEEK BUT then I panicked because I had planned to use the WORLD WAR II mural photos for "W." What to do, what to do!

I decided to make collages of the weeds and wildflowers and show the mural photo of the WAR in original size. . . Ü

WEEDS and WILDFLOWERS without names:

It doesn't do the weeds and wildflowers justice to make them so small -- some of them were just beautiful! I will have to make a choice next time, I reckon.

World War II MURAL on railroad wall. . . It isn't finished -- the artists ran out of funds and I reckon will do the rest when they get enough money together again for the paint. It is a volunteer activity. The photos that are taken at a slant are because there used to be a building close by and I couldn't take the full view up close. Today, they have demolished the building and put in grass and flowers and a walkway and there is a parking lot for the Columbian newspaper's new office building and the Hilton Hotel property so the area is very nice place to stroll through. This spring, I helped weed the area when we had a cleanup Vancouver day.

As I love history very much, I find the idea to paint such a long wall about it really great!the paintings are very well made and impressive.
sure, it could not be easy to take pictures of it, but anyway, the shots you made allow us to see that incredible thing;I like it!

That mural painting was impressive. It must be well worth the effort - if we can learn something from it.

What a great idea to paint a mural on WW II. You said the mural is not finished! Well actually that war isn't either. It left so many victims who are still suffering from the atrocities they have undergone. I was as a child a prisoner in one of the Japanese concentration camps. Fortunately I can live with it.
Very good post.

Hi Paulie,
I do hope someone finds the funds to complete the mual. What a shame to start and not finish, eh? Is there a reason a WWII mural is being painted in this location?

Interesting wall to commemorate WW2.   Hope they get more funds so they can finish it.

Also think your weeds are great -- they never get any respect...
