Project Yellow
Go here if you would like to join us for ABC Wednesday. . . Mrs Nesbitt
This is called hairpin LACE crochet. You can see in the photo above, a close up of the rows of hairpin LACE that make up the baby blanket. I still have to finish the edges.
The tool for Hairpin LACE is a simple machine -- here, it is showing how I single crochet up the middle of it and the rows of LACE it makes..
These are 3 hats and scarves made of Hairpin LACE that I made for an orphanage in Mexico. We sent them 100 sets. I got in on the tail end of the project.
Some of the Hairpin LACE scarves I made for the Veteran's Hospital Bazaar and for the Valentine Red Scarf Project for orphans and foster kids in college.
These famous arches are yellow and they have a friend on top too -- if you want to enlarge, click on the photo.
If you want to play, go here: Anna has a Project Yellow going on this week.

My ABC : L theme Thanks.
That's lovely, and also you have put ABC and Yellow in the same post. Clever
not heard of hairpin lace - my wife used to do bobbin lace and when she could no longer do that did crochet for a while.
I must say that in the subject you have chosen I'm somewhat of an incompetent. However, even I can see that it demands an impressive patience and skill to practice this art.
A Great L!
My L is here
Beautiful work, you must be very talented to do that. The blanket for the baby is gorgeous, love the colours.-Have a wonderful wednesday!
Your hairpin lace took me back.

Beautiful handwork. :)
Your Project Yellow shot is great as well! :)
You must have dedication as well as talent to do so much lace work for charity. Interesting.

I'm sure there are many who enjoy your beautiful crocheted gifts and also many who wish they had the patience and skill to do such.

I wish I could make something like that, great job!
I've never tried hairpin crochet. It looks like it takes a long time and a lot of work. I always liked basic crochet because I only ever had one stitch to drop at a time!
WOW your hairpin LACE crochet is lovely, I have never seen this, exquisite .
How neat you have combined ABC and Yellow…
That’s KEWL
I came and visited and never commented. Boy, was I tired yesterday!
I have seen theis hairpin lace up close and personal and it is pretty impressive. I also did a Yellow post today.
Beautiful scarves. The hairpin lace scarves look difficult to make. You should be very proud of your skills.
Wow! I friendly envy your skill! I wish I culd knit, but I'm bad with that... Your work is beautiful and it was a nice choice for the L post! Have a great Wednesday! Kisses from Nydia.

OH Paulie, the Lace is beautiful! And how wonderful for you to be donating your items to those less fortunate!
I love your Project Yellow also!
I kind of like this MeMe where you take photos of a certain color.
I think maybe I'd like to learn this hairpin lace crochet. It looks like it would go fast.
Yesterday, I went for a wonderful walk in the old town of Madison where I used to live. Not in the old town. I love it though because it has the atmosphere of an old town but is very conveinent to everything else. I would like to live there. I will post pictures soon. It was a lot of fun.
Part of my problem with my eating was that one day I binged. Have you ever done that. Well, the combination of foods I ate and the amount had a adverse effect on my digestive system so I paid for it big time. I have IBS and when I'm eating right, it gives me no problem.
This weekend for four days I didn't track so I wasn't expecting a loss.
I'm doing better. I walked again this morning.
I hope you're able to get out. Thanks for your loyalty, my friend.
Mama Bear
Your afghan is beautiful with the soft, pastel colors!
