ABC Wednesday - Year 2 "Z"

Go here if you would like to join us for ABC Wednesday. . . Mrs Nesbitt

This has been fun but sometimes challenging! I have now completed my first round of ABC Wednesday and think I will give it a rest for the next round. Thanks to all who visited my entries faithfully each week. I appreciate that! Hope you will drop by my blog and see what is up with me after this week. I know there are blogging friends who I plan to visit even if I am not participating in this challenge again. I hope to get in some hiking before summer is over and participating in weekly challenges hasn't given me much time to do as much walking as I want to do. Might even get to go to the beach one weekend. . . OK, on to "Z."

The final letter is "Z" and I thought of taking a photo of my TV which is a ZENITH or showing you a photo of a ZIPPER or a postage ZIP code, or doing nothing at all and having it stand for ZERO. . . and that made me think of when I taught Kindergarten and ZERO HERO came to visit us. . . or trying to think of a way I could show you my ZOOM lens on my camera -- that involved using a mirror . . . but I decided not to use any of them and instead I will show you a ZEBRA at the ZOO. This was one of the field trips that I took my Kindergarten class on during my last year of teaching.

ABC Wednesday - Year 2 --"V"

Go here if you would like to join us for ABC Wednesday. . . Mrs Nesbitt

I almost panicked when I remembered that tomorrow was Wednesday and I had nothing planned for "V." I didn't know what to do so I took out my trusty dictionary and got some ideas. I discovered that I could use some old photos of a vacation, violets, veggies or volcanoes.or I could take some new photos of vellum, velvet, or my veggie vouchers. I didn't have any photos of VIOLINS or VAMPIRES.so that ruled those two out. . . Instead I decided to use something I don't think anyone else will.

It's a VARIETY of VERTICAL PHOTOS!!!!!!! Also, VARIOUS VALENTINES. . .So without further ado, here's my selections of VERTICAL photos and a couple VALENTINES I made. CLICK on photos to enlarge.

ABC Wednesday - Year 2 --"U"

With all the rain we have been having, nothing is more appropriate than an UMBRELLA for the letter "U." I took this one Sunday at the farmer's market. Our newspaper, The Columbian, offers these comic umbrellas if you subscribe.

S is for STAMPIN' cards!
CLICK on them to enlarge

I took up this craft a couple years ago and really enjoy making personalized cards for birthdays, holidays, anniversaries, etc. Here's a few of my creations -- none are exactly the same.

This is my card blog on Yahoo. It is only up to date through March. While I may use the same stamp, no two cards I make are alike. Click Paulie's cards blog!

ABC Wednesday--Year Two --Q

Go here if you would like to join us for ABC Wednesday. . . Mrs Nesbitt

Q is for quilts that our ladies group at Grace Lutheran made for the Veterans in the VA Hospital, for a project at the Oregon LWML convention and and also for people during their last days at the hospital. (For those, we make some plain squares for so loved ones can write a memory on them when they visit the dying loved one. Then the family has a memory quilt to cherish when they no longer have their loved one.) Anyway, they were on display in our church the first week in May to be blessed before given away.

"N" is for NINE NIFTY NEEDLES shaped in a NICE NUMERAL NINE. In case you don't enlarge it to see the writing better, there are 4 crochet needles, 3 counted cross stitch needles and 2 yarn needles.

I use the crochet needles and the the yarn needles when I make my hairpinlace NEEDLEWORK projects like this:

I use the blunt needles for counted cross stitch needlework projects like this:
