ABC Wednesday - Year 2 -- #11

Go here if you would like to join us for ABC Wednesday. . . Mrs Nesbitt
Click on photos to make bigger.
K is for KINDERGARTEN KIDS flying KITES! Just before school got out we went to Wintler Park where there is a beach along the Columbia River and they learned to fly KITESwith Moms and Dads and other adult school volunteer friends. The photos are tiny (Click on to enlarge a little.) but you can see that each child has their own KITE in the air!

After the KIDS flew their KITES, the KINDERGARTNERS played in the sand and built sand castles.

I couldn't post about my sweet KINDERGARTNERS without telling you about some of the things they did in KINDERGARTEN besides learning to read and write and learn math facts so . . .
Kis also for KINDERGARTEN KIDS I had in my last year teaching. It was at a new Lutheran School that just opened with 5 KINDERGARTEN KIDS and for awhile, there were 6 KIDS

The KINDERGARTEN KIDS loved to listen to a book on tape while following along with the words in the book.

The KINDERGARTEN KIDS were lucky to go on many field trips and they are here at the Portland Zoo and the Coast Guard Station on Sauvie Island where one of the fathers was stationed..

KINDERGARTEN KIDS do additional math activities.

Here the KINDERGARTEN KIDS use the computer, do PE and write in their journals.

Blowing bubbles is a fun Science lesson for the KINDERGARTEN KIDS.

They love to build with blocks and other building materials because they are KINDERGARTEN KIDS.

My KINDERGARTEN KIDS loved science projects!

Taking turns being the puppeteer and watching the show was a fun activity for my KINDERGARTEN KIDS.

KINDERGARTEN KIDS love to read -- especially when they have a little friend to read to.

KINDERGARTEN KIDS learn music from a volunteer and perform (for the church we were located at) for Lutheran Schools Week. Here they are singing "On Eagle's Wings," the school song. . . but just the chorus! We also like to move to music of Greg and Steve.

"Read Across America" day was spent reading books on our own and having volunteers read to usKINDERGARTNERS, If you look closely at the white board, you will see the number words written in German -- yes, we KINDERGARTNERS learned a lot of German in KINDERGARTEN too!

These photos of my KINDERGARTEN KIDS were taken on the first and last day of KINDERGARTEN

You chose to do KIDS, too. (I caught a glimpse of a certain book rack! Glad it made its way to another teacher when you no longer needed it.)

On my list of possible K, but no photo of Kites and careful when presenting kids on the net made me drop it.

I enjoyed seeing your photos of the kids. I know this was a rewarding profession for you and you have many wonderful memories. Having such a small class gave you more one on one time with each child.

No, David, that is a buoy for the Columbia River --I didn't know they were so big underneath the water since you just see the top of them floating.
