Blog Your Blessings Sunday #15

In trying to choose among my blessings this week, I decided on "REST."
Whether we are taking a break from work or play, we all need rest. Even God rested on the 7th day. (Genesis) It wasn't because He was tired -- after all He is God! It showed completeness to his creating.
God knows we need rest to restore us. Strength is exhibited in quietness. . . when we are quiet, we can listen to God and hear His voice and become strong again because we know His love.
What a more restful place to listen to God while we "rest in His promises". . . the Columbia River at sunset on a beautifully constructed bench where we can take the time to think of our daily blessings!

I am always thankful when I can grab some rest - peace and quiet and downtime. Good choice.
The most overlooked and forgotten blessing of all! "Rest" is a good one!
Well stated and well illustrated! And when will we all remember this?
Research backs it up, showing that most people don't get enough sleep any more. Sometimes we substitute frenetic activity for rest.
I am sitting restfully at my computer with my feet up till it is time to go to church. I glance through the blinds. I see slight movement outside--what is going on. Snow is falling! I think I had better change my shoes.
Sorry, don't really mean to make you jealous.
Good post and beautiful picture.
A beautiful post.

Rest is elusive at the moment - so a double blessing when I find it.
Happy BYB Sunday and have a great week.
Rest is very important and it doesn't just mean to sleep.
Very beautiful and thank you for visiting my first BYBS.
Happy BYB Sunday!
You are so right! God bless you.
I agree we all need some R&R on a regular basis to help enjoy our blessings :) Love the photo :) Happy BYB Sunday and I hope you have a great week ahead!
I know I'm grateful for rest :-)
BTW, JK Rowling wrote the "Harry Potter" series. JRR Tolkien wrote a series called "Lord of the Rings."
No matter how many different kinds of blessings we all have, REST will always be one of my favorites!
Oops . . . goofed on authors but at least they are both science fiction. Thanks for letting me know.
