Blog Your Blessings Sunday #30

If you care to join us acknowledging our blessings go here: Blue Panther

I worked for 6 hours at my storage unit today transferring some of my boxes to a smaller unit. I came home and was wondering what I could post for my blessing this week. My muscles hurt so much, I couldn't think of a thing. I rested for about an hour and then got up to take my shower, hoping it would help my sore muscles. . . That was the right prescription -- thus, I am thankful for hot water this weekend.

Since this is Memorial Day weekend, I am also thankful for the men and women who serve our country and keep us safe. This is a photo of my two sons who are both with the Navy.

Todd is on the left and he has more than 20 years in the service and is serving in Italy now. Shaun spent 4 years in the Navy and got out BUT he joined the Navy Reserve and goes on active duty each year. He is also a firefighter in Seattle. Both are Senior Chiefs -- they both got the ranking the same year. Their Dad and Grandfather were also Senior Chiefs in the Navy.

Happy Memorial Day to the United States! Don't forget to thank a VETERAN!

Hot water is a blessing indeed. I have learned to take Tylenol BEFORE working in the yard. It has made all the difference.

Thank your family for your service to mankind. Blessed are the peace keepers.

A very nice picture of your sons. Hope you had a good memorial day weekend, and your muscles got the rest they needed.

It is indeed a blessing to have those who serve our country protect us. Today it seems that few realize what a blessing that is and do not think about the price some and their families pay. I best stop here before I go on a rant.
Hope your muscles are all better now.

Excellent post, and perfect for your long weekend too. :) Ours was last week, but is not a memorial day for our vets that is in the Fall for us.

Happy BYB Sunday and wishing you a great week ahead :)

You must be very proud---they look like great men! I too have been lugging boxes and going through stuff, so I know ALL about sore muscles! :-) Happy BYB Sunday!

First off, I concur about hot water! (You could toss in various ointments for sore muscles too...)

Great snap of your sons... they must make you very proud!

Enjoyed this post. It is good to count your blessings and hot water is surely a blessing for all of us. Your Navy men are something to be very proud of!

Congratulations on your accomplishment at your storage unit! Fortunately I don’t have one of those, but I do have many closets and a garage in need of clearing out. I don’t work in 6 hour stretches any more because it would take more that hot water to restore my aging body … but I try to make some progress every day. Wonderful tribute to your family’s service in the Navy!
Hugs and blessings,

You get my award for "So totally da post" for this week :-) Hot water is one of the things that actually make getting up a good thing.

As far as the second part of your post...wow. Thanks for reminding me that Memorial Day is about remembering and not just a day off.

Two very nice looking men! Look at all those medals. My son's middle name is Todd. Have I told you that before? We always called him that but in the militray he started going by Jim. His first name is Jimmy so that's alright. Now I try to call him Jim but it gets confusing sometimes.

You certainly are a proud mom, and rightfully so. Please thank your sons on my family's behalf. Without their commitment the world would be a much less safe place.

Paulie, you remind us that the simplest things are most important. (And I had no water, let alone hot, this week when my well broke! So I know!) Your sons are so handsome! I have a couple of daughters somewhere you know . . . .
