Trees I have "known" at Mt. Rainier. . .

This will be my last entry on this blog as I have just about run out of photo space. Please join me over at PERBS I have a few more from Mt. Rainier of birds, mountains and raindrops. I haven't decided yet where I will put my blogs for Turtle Place, Kiggins House remodel and For the Love of Benches yet but I hope to continue them also. (I have taken update photos but am behind in posting them.)

The new growth contrasts beautifully with the tree.

The rock slides look like an angel on the left and Jesus on the right.

The branches growing from the side of this trunk were contrasts from dead to fall colors to olive green.

Our trail on our 3rd. hike looked like this most of the way. . . only in a short distance was it a wider smooth trail.

Project GREEN 3

The needles are green. . .

Blossoms on trees and blue skies Wednesday. . .

Tree line. . .

I love the tree line edging this empty lot. It is close to Myrl's house. In the background is WINCO, a large grocery chain (Washington, Idaho, Nevada, California and Oregon) I am coming from Hagen Park behind me. To get to Myrl's I walk thru the park and down a street a block or so.

Not all trees are bare when they lose their leaves. . .

Ok went and got close ups. . . I think a few of you guessed correctly about the kind of tree. This one had fallen on the ground. Well, lots had but I took a photo of that one.

I don't know why people can't see my tree branch photo. . . I even took it off and re-loaded it. I have always seen it.



I have no idea what kind of tree this is but when I looked up at the bus stop this morning, I saw all, or most all, of the leaves were off the limbs and yet the tree was FULL. It's branches were laden with those round little spikey cones. I had never seen this on a tree before and found it interesting. This is not the whole tree but a side branch of a big tree. Of anyone knows what kind of a tree it is, please let me know. (Click on it to enlarge.)

My new angel . . .

When our church ladies group went to Holly and Ivy's I bought this angel. I love it, first of all, because it is a snowman angel holding a single acorn! The message written on the snowman is special to me also since I love to walk among the trees, one of God's gifts to us since the time of Creation. The writing says:" The creation of a thousand forests is in one acorn."

View from my window on very foggy day. . .

This tree is the best thing about my little apartment in a high rise. I live on the 8th floor and it can be seen almost to the ceiling of my place, thus, reaching the 9th floor! The fog was so dense this morning, you could not see the other shorter trees in their autumn splendor, nor the houses in this old neighborhood that are all arranged by square 'blocks" unlike the housing built today.

Indian Summer . . .

It is hot today -- for September. . . 97 in this neck of the woods is considered hot. I am so grateful that I live in an apartment building on the 8th floor because I get the breeze of that giant tree outside my window. The long, sleek branches are swaying in the gentle breeze of this otherwise unbearably hot day. Just seeing the motion of those "evergreen fans" cools me off. I thank God for this special huge tree -- that stands above all the rest for miles and miles --and is there for my enjoyment each time my eyes focus on the world outside my window Many times, it is the small things that I need to be so thankful for, especially today.

In a way, the heat is a blessing to me today because it is forcing me to stay indoors and I can get more of my "settlin' in" accomplished. Then I reward myself with some computer time! I've been checking out some of my favorite sites of bloggers that participate in PHOTO HUNTERS. There are some real special people that I may never meet in person but can enjoy getting to know them through their writings and in return, let them know what a blessing they are to me.

Blogging is sorta like having a pen pal. . . I had 40 of them as a kid growing up. The best part about blogging is you don't have to wait three days for the mail to arrive!
