My window view Thursday night

Love living in this high rise where I can always see the sun set in the evening. First, it is so bright that it looks white so I wait a bit and usually get a mellow shot that is a reminder that the sun is going to bed.

July sunset . . .

The sun sets in the west. Everybody knows that. My living room and bedroom windows face the north but if I look west, I can usually spot a partial sunset. This past week, the sun was just blazing and it spread to the north from the west and this is what I gazed upon when I was beckoned to the window from my computer when it reflected on my eastern wall. I thought it was quite beautiful! I wanted to put it up earlier but I didn't want people who dropped by to miss the prism in the cloud either.

Another Sunset From the 8th Floor

God keeps providing these beautiful veiws for me each evening --it was a bit late in coming last night since it was the first day of summer, the days are longer!

Another sunset. . .

Sunset from my 8th floor apartment last night. I was using my computer with my back to the window. Suddenly, the colored lights from the sunset flashed on the opposite wall where I have a mirrored cabinet and then the light reflected from it onto me at the computer so naturally, I had to get my camera and get a couple shots. I think it was even more beautiful in person.

Sunset skies. . .

This was the sunset sky from my 8th floor view this past week. Lately, the sunset has been reflecting on my wall and it reminds me to look out the window to catch the beauty!

ODD SHOT MONDAY

The symbol above is for a new meme that Katney started recently .

Look at the name on the building and tell me you don't think its on fire. . . lol I thought it was quite a coincidence seeing the sunset red colors and the SPARK on the building name. Thus, an odd shot entry!

Last night from the Confluence Bridge. . .

It was a warm day in the high 80's yesterday so when I was finished with the scheduled things I had to do, I went for a walk along the Columbia River. I stayed until sunset and then decided to walk the Confluence Bridge to go home. This was the first time at dusk that I had crossed it. Look at the beautiful sight that greeted me as I looked back over my shoulder! On the left, you see the iron railing separating us on the bridge from the railroad tracks and on the right you see a car emerging from under the bridge on Hiway 14. You will want to click on this one to see how beautiful the sunset and surroundings really are. . .

SKy Watch Friday #25

The sunset seems to be enveloping the flag that is flying high above a building.

Do sunsets need to rest? Seems this one likes the lamp post.

"Goodbye, until tomorrow " . . .

The sun is peeking out from behind the tree.

Although the sun has gone down, the night sky is visible through the many lamp lights.

Sunsets I have known. . .

Patricia over atPollywog Creek has a meme about sunrises and sunsets. I think somewhere I have some sunrises but not on this computer. I had a hard time choosing just one so I decided to post several out of the 39 I found! Ü

Of course it all depends on whether or not blogger is working tonight. Well, it took two days to get these up. I wanted to share two more but I give up!

I like all of them for different reasons but my favorite is the one with the dark reds that seems to be bursting through the sky OR the one of the statue in silhouette. Most were taken on the Columbia River that separates Washington from Oregon or just around town here.

I went for a walk after almost two days of non-stop rain and the sky was starting to clear. It's amazing what beauty the clouds demonstrate --the last one shows the beginning of a sunset. All were taken during a period of 4 hours the same afternoon.

Sunset

I saw this scene from my window and although the photo is taken through the glass window pane, I love the colors of the wispy clouds.
